Android Development Is Underway as Ascended Prepares for iOS Launch

As we gear up for the official iOS release of Ascended this Monday, June 15, we’re excited to share another major milestone: Android development is officially underway.

Our immediate focus has been getting the iOS version of Ascended ready for launch and making sure our first wave of recruits has the strongest possible experience when the Nexus doors officially open. With release now just days away, our team is already shifting attention toward bringing Ascended to Android users next.

The Road to Android

We have been getting questions about Android availability ever since we made our first few posts on TikTok last Summer — the enthusiasm inspired our idea to launch our first Kickstarter this past Spring. After successfully funding our project, we set our sights on how to wrap up iOS, delivery on our stretch goal promises, and swiftly delivery our backer rewards to our community so we could start on Android development.

Android users, know that your patience hasn't gone unnoticed — we hear you! While Android is not launching alongside iOS, it is now actively in development, and we’ll be sharing a more detailed roadmap soon so users can follow our progress more clearly.

Most Common Questions

Q: If I temporarily borrow or purchase an iPhone to participate in the iOS launch, can I log into my account from my Android phone later when it launches in the Google Play store?

A: Yes, we are using a single database connection for both platforms so users will be able to log in from any device seamlessly.

Q: If I have a friend that uses iOS and I'm on Android, can I add them as a friend and invite them to Group Missions?

A: Yes, Ascended supports cross-platform play. Recruits across Arcadia will be able to enjoy the app together, regardless of device type.

Q: Will there be an Android Beta? Who is able to join?

A: We do plan on launching an Android Beta once we have our first few core features available for testing. We anticipate this being available to users late summer and running it for a similar period of time to iOS (4-6 weeks) ahead of launch. It will be made available to waitlisted users and Kickstarter backers. If you're interested in inviting a friend to the Android beta, just shoot us a request for a code at team@ascendedapp.com.

Current Outlook & Gameplan

The Android version will include all the same core features as the iOS Ascended experience: progression, leveling, story, character art, skill building, leaderboards, weapon upgrades. Users will be able to interact with our iOS users within the app via cross play in features such as friend lists, ranks, group missions and event challenges.

For now, our next major step is the iOS launch on Monday, June 15. This release marks the a major milestone for Ascended and we couldn't be more excited as this new chapter!
